Professional Training

Cerro Vista offers trainers that are experienced in Dressage, Hunter/Jumpers, Cross Country, Western Pleasure, as well as Driving.

Danielle and Joe McKinley, Vanguard Eventing
Joe is a veteran rider and trainer who has competed in the upper levels of eventing and dressage. A graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Joe draws on his military experience in his process of training horses. With young horses, as well as horses he has produced himself and brought through the levels, Joe has numerous wins and top three finishes at varying levels, and has successfully competed at the Intermediate level. In addition to his primary focus of eventing, Joe has competed and won through Prix St Georges dressage, and has multiple wins and places at 3rd and 4th level.

Danielle, a Bay Area native, started her work with horses from a young age with a focus on three-day eventing and dressage. Danielle has brought up several horses from the race track through Preliminary and CCI* levels in eventing, and now specializes in working with young and green horses. Having worked as a groom, barn manager and assistant trainer in several FEI barns, Danielle is able to draw her knowledge from all aspects of the industry, including her Bachelors of Science degree in Equine Science and Management.

Dani and Joe are at Cerro Vista every day except for Monday. You can reach them at 925-518-5550 to discuss your training needs.

Adrienne Grasso, Sterling Farms
Adrienne is especially fond of ponies and has extensive experience showing Welsh Ponies and Cobs and Pony Hunters. She has recently begun showing both Dales Ponies and Fell Ponies (Mountain and Moorland Breeds from the UK) in-hand and ridden. Adrienne was pleased to show the Supreme Grand Champion winner (the Dales Pony stallion Colliery Alick) at the first Mountain and Moorland show in California, at Brookside Equestrian Center in September 2006.

Adrienne also enjoys starting young horses of all breeds including Thoroughbreds, Warmbloods, Arabians, Quarter horses, ponies of all breeds, and draft crosses. She begins by instilling solid ground manners and moves at the horse's pace to help ensure a well-adjusted riding partner with skills appropriate for its intended job.

Adrienne is at Rancho Cerro most days and can be reached at 925-980-7358. She is always happy to talk about how she might help you and your horse reach your full potential.
